This is an introductory course in abstract algebra. Topics include sets and types of functions corresponding to sets, the integers and their properties, modular arithmetic, equivalence classes, groups, homomorphisms, rings, integral domains, fields and polynomials. Prerequisites: “C-” or better in both MA305 and MA315.
