This graduate course examines the concept of leadership from the Christian perspective. Students will explore leadership through the lens of scripture and current theoretical frameworks. Emphasis is given to various aspects of and approaches to leadership, including how vision and communication shape and enhance a leader’s effectiveness. Future leaders will learn the skills to diagnose the need for organizational change and approaches to facilitate change, including strategies to overcome resistance and promote teamwork. Additionally, students will explore practical applications and best practices for developing leadership skills to lead oneself and others more effectively. Leadership is viewed within a framework that is open to the movement and activity of the Holy Spirit, serving to form and inform leaders and the organizations they lead, and preparing them to lead in a variety of settings, including ministry, business, and strategic communication.
